What do you enjoy about working for Four Seasons Health Care Group?

The best thing about working here is seeing the smile on the faces of the residents.  As a team we are instrumental in ensuring that every moment matters for our residents. My role is to support the clinical team as well as acting as Home Manager.

What do you enjoy about being a Deputy Manager?

Simply making a difference.

How would you describe the culture?

The culture within Four Seasons is transparent and open. Even at home level we are kept in the loop by our CEO with monthly updates via YouTube videos. There are always opportunities to provide feedback to the Regional Managers and Managing Directors, who listen to the needs of their teams.

They take on board our opinions by asking for regular feedback.

What does a typical day look like for you?

No two days are the same.  One day I can be working on the floor, the next completing audits, writing care plans, testing for coronavirus or working in the office. I can then be meeting new people, showing people around, taking part in multi-disciplinary ward rounds. Or we could be taking part in sing-a-longs and watching movies or watching and encouraging the residents to join in with the exercise sessions.

What excites you about working for the company?

My role as Clinical Lead and Deputy Manager can be challenging at times and you need to be able to adapt your skills quickly to different situations.

What did you do prior to joining FSHC Group?

I worked within the NHS before moving to a private mental health service as a Registered Nurse.  I started to miss the clinical elements to my role. I have a passion for dementia and end of life care and needed to come back to what I enjoyed the most.

What makes you feel empowered in your role?

The support and recognition that is provided and being encouraged to have the autonomy to make changes and make every day special for the people in our care.

How do you want to progress and grow?

There are lots of routes available within the company for me to progress. I am currently studying towards my level 5 in Leadership and Management. Four Seasons Health Care Group provide lots of opportunities to further both your education and knowledge through offering NVQ’s, clinical skills training and support with revalidation.  Upon successful completion of my NVQ there are lots of avenues I could take within the company, such as Home Manager, Quality Assurance, Compliance or even Training.

Does your work give you a sense of pride – why is that?

Knowing that even the smallest of interactions with someone can make all the difference to a person in our care. The way in which our team has pulled together throughout the pandemic makes me proud. Whilst the world has been in lockdown we have tried to carry on as normally as possible to ensure the impact upon the people we care for remained at a minimum. The support, love and solidarity the team showed not just towards the people we care for but also for each other makes me immensely proud to be part of such a fantastic team.

Tell us about the rewards and benefits?

Four Seasons Health Care Group have an app called the Hapi App which provides lots of high street discounts and vouchers. They also provide things such as free counselling from debt advice to bereavement to life insurance.

Describe working here, in one word.

Rewarding.
