Care Assistant
Care - Westbury Court, Westbury
This may sound bias in my role but It’s the personal development opportunities. I have seen and met a lot of people within the business who had progressed from a care role to operational, that includes myself as I stared as a Care Assistant when I first joined in the Group back in 2009 and I have been internally developed to a Regional Trainer.
Having started as a Care Assistant, I have found my passion in making a difference to our residents’ day-to-day life, big or small.
Being a Regional Trainer, I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience to the rest of the team during our training sessions and seeing the difference I make to team members and ultimately our residents’ quality of life.
We have a whole team approach as everyone is on the same page, working towards the same goal to improve our residents’ quality of life.
Absolutely! I have never felt that I am working alone. There is always someone to pick up the phone when I need help, even at night when your car breaks down and you need another stay over!!!
Every day is different which makes it exciting! One day I could be delivering training, another day I could be sitting in a meeting, next day I could be serving hot drinks within a home, following day I could be looking at presentations, but one thing is for certain,
I do spend a lot of time traveling on a day to day basis. And even though I have an allocated role I am never too busy to roll my sleeves up and help within the home!
As I’ve mentioned, I started as a Care Assistant and due to the training and development opportunities I’ve received, I progressed into my current role as Regional Trainer. I am very thankful for the development opportunities and now I am the one providing the training and progression support!
I mean the satisfaction I get from my role is a reward in itself but the Happy Hub is a fantastic app that can save you money on lots of restaurants, shops, entertainment, and more!
Nurturing.
