Congratulations to our team at Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre who achieved ‘Excellent’ ratings from the Care Inspectorate following their recent inspection. 👏

The care centre was praised for the “very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere within the home where staff interactions with people were carried out with dignity, respect and genuine affection.”

Gilmerton NCC received scores of  6 out of 6 - ‘Excellent’  in the evaluation areas inspected; ‘How well do we support people's wellbeing?’ and ‘How good is our leadership?’ following the unannounced inspection from the social care regulator.

The regulator reported that: “People felt respected and listened to because their wishes and preferences were used to shape how they were supported.” And “People told us how much they enjoyed taking part in all the activities available to them. This included outings, music therapy sessions, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, a variety of games as well as rebound sessions where trampolines are used to facilitate better balance.”

A family member told the inspectors that: "Staff are really good, this is the best we have ever seen mum and the most independent we have ever seen her."

Home Manager, Victoria, said: “We are extremely proud of this achievement which is testament to the entire team’s dedication to caring for our residents. We are totally committed to supporting the people in our care; giving them the best possible opportunity to regain maximum neurological functionality through rehabilitation and to help them discover ways back into a fulfilling life.”
