Do you have Health and Safety experience within the Care Sector?

We are recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor.  As a Health & Safety Advisor you will ensuring that health and safety responsibilities are effectively discharged at all levels within the business for compliance and quality assurance purposes.  As one of the largest healthcare providers in the UK it’s important to us to couple great care with meaningful and enjoyable experiences.

As a Health & Safety Advisor you will:

  • Provide a competent and effective H&S advice and support to Four Seasons Health Care Groups Management Team, Care Home/Unit managers and employees.
  • Compile reports on indicators of H&S performance across facilities within their jurisdiction, which highlight improvements secured and priorities for action
  • Provide direction and support to local management teams on the production of the remedial action plans following audits and risk assessments
  • Be an engaging and enthusiastic role model for health and safety reflecting the companies values and ensure appropriate and professional conduct at all times
  • Work honestly and collaboratively towards shared success, and add value to the business and a positive care experience for those living and working within the FSHC group
  • Attend H&S Committee meetings, positively contribute to matters discussed, including participation in the development of H&S policy/guidance; and enhance risk management awareness through effective communication of the forum’s outcomes
  • Participate, as required, in multi-disciplinary working groups to consider the implications of new H&S regulations or the introduction of new services on the business
  • Undertake H&S inspections, participate in the audit process and work with other departments and relevant parties to secure risk management and quality improvements
  • Liaise with Care Quality and Risk, Estates and Learning & Development in ensuring effective risk management across the business and to act as specialist point of contact for external regulators e.g. HSE, Fire and Rescue Service, Environmental Health and Environment Agency.

To succeed you will be:

  • Driven and motivated and believe in quality care
  • Have current and detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and its application and impact in a multi-site healthcare context
  • Ability to communicate, clearly and effectively at all levels, orally and in writing, and to draft and present reports on complex matters.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate, NVQ4 or equivalent Occupational H&S qualification. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Occupational H&S qualification
  • IOSH membership and working towards Chartered/RSP status
